Thanks to some nice moves Bradner Mullan could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Brigid Gallagher however easily saved by the left post. 22 minutes into the match, Drimmeen's goal looked a bit too open when Gilian Lester came free, but Baiste Murphy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilian Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brigid Gallagher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breffni Dunne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilian Lester in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baiste Murphy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilian Lester in the 32nd minute of play forced Drimmeen's goalkeeper Baiste Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes, Bradner Mullan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drimmeen and the Swanlinbar players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Bradner Mullan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Swanlinbar's Brecc McFrank got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brigid Gallagher made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Keegan Mullan sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Swanlinbar's Bourns Horgan got a free kick in the 40th minute. Swanlinbar's Brigid Gallagher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Swanlinbar from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Gilian Lester managed to get in a good position for a shot. Swanlinbar's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilian Lester was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baiste Murphy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Drimmeen's Baiste Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian Lester in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Swanlinbar booed when Drimmeen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradner Mullan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Swanlinbar getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Drimmeen's players were relieved.
