The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Harley McGlenn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Fachtna Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Braon Duggan kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Harley McGlenn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fachtna Savic. The goal made the score 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Lurgan FC's zone, Coran McSteven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ultan Prunty came out of the goal and Coran McSteven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ultan Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyrone Murphy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laban's Fachtna Barrett pulled a muscle in his leg after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boyne Rogers during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Lurgan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyne Rogers to maneuver through the defense. Lurgan FC's Ultan Prunty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Coran McSteven in the 29th minute of play. Ultan Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bragain Caffrey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bragain Caffrey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ultan Prunty having to interfere. Lurgan FC's Ultan Prunty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bragain Caffrey in the 38th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Donavan Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyrone Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harley McGlenn made a kick off. Antaine Branson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ultan Prunty made a huge save. Tyrone Murphy let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 55th minute shot 2-1 at rihgt post. Ultan Prunty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tyrone Murphy in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Lurgan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bragain Caffrey came free, but Ultan Prunty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute Patton McCollion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ultan Prunty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Tyrone Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Laban's Rory McBrandon got a free kick in the 71st minute. Fachtna Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quinn McBrand, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Donavan Doyle scored 3-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fachtna Savic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 82 in the game by Tyrone Murphy from a close distance when the talented Ultan Prunty managed to make a qualified save. Lurgan FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Lurgan FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Harley McGlenn hit a great ball. If Bragain Caffrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Lurgan FC could leave the field as winners, despite Laban having more of the ball for most of the match.
