In the 5th minute, Reidy Lavine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 9 played minutes Rinneen FC got a freekick which was hit by Pearse McAlphie. Reidy Lavine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rollin McFrancise charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rollin McFrancise the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Letterlough getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Rollin McFrancise hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Reidy McPeter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Dimson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berke Frankson hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Rinneen FC's Pearse McAlphie got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Letterlough's Reidy Lavine nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brigid McCollion made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Letterlough getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Berke Frankson hit a great ball. Reidy McPeter hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reidy McPeter in the 42nd minute of play forced Letterlough's goalkeeper Roland Dimson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Rollin McFrancise got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reidy McPeter was the one to do the kick off. Roland Dimson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reidy McPeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Damian Dalton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brigid McCollion having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Logan Jameson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rinneen FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Letterlough the free kick. A collision led to Rinneen FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Logan Jameson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Dalton in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brigid McCollion saved Rinneen FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cormac Deans during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Reidy Lavine fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Letterlough's protests and gave Reidy Lavine a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rinneen FC booed when Letterlough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reidy Lavine didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reidy McPeter in the 87th minute of play forced Letterlough's goalkeeper Roland Dimson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Cormac Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rinneen FC:s Brigid McCollion showed great skill when he stopped Bodibeve Glen Crowe:s penalty. Letterlough's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
