Rinneen FC's Brigid McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennis Tracy in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reidy McVictor in the 21st minute of play forced Rinneen FC's goalkeeper Brigid McCollion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ennis Tracy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reidy McPeter hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Rinneen FC's Gilbert Brennan got a free kick in the 30th minute. Gealan McTommy charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gealan McTommy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ballyguin booed when Rinneen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gealan McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Kelly charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomás Kelly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Rinneen FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ballyguin were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ennis Tracy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rinneen FC's Brigid McCollion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Rinneen FC from getting a goal against them. If Tomás Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Tierney Barrett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rinneen FC's Brigid McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blathma McDecland in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of Rinneen FC booed when Ballyguin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tierney Barrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brigid McCollion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blathma McDecland in the 90th minute of play. 97 minutes into the game, Reidy McVictor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Brigid McCollion was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle sounded Ballyguin left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rinneen FC.
