Bat McWilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Breffni Benson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bat McWilliam in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turlough Hutton in the 22nd minute of play forced Ballylangley's goalkeeper Breffni Benson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Geisill FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brecc Morrison to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turlough Hutton in the 53rd minute of play forced Ballylangley's goalkeeper Breffni Benson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Ballylangley's goal looked a bit too open when Turlough Hutton came free, but Breffni Benson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ballylangley booed when Geisill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carrigan Dimson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Geisill FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
