In the 7th minute, Bat McWilliam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gehan Dillon during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Drumreilly's Gehan Dillon got a free kick in the 9th minute. Colmcille Frankson charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Colmcille Frankson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Colmcille Frankson kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Geisill FC's Aengus Willson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Geisill FC from getting a goal against them. If Barde Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdia Dempsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turlough Hutton, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 30th minute, Barran Lavine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bearach McDonald's late challenge caught a Drumreilly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bearach McDonald helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Geisill FC got a freekick which was hit by Bearach McDonald. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Beineon MaCollin with Breannain McPaul as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 36 minutes into the game, Bat McWilliam cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ferdia Dempsey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aengus Willson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colmcille Frankson, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. If Breanainn Crowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hugh McGlenn's late challenge caught a Geisill FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugh McGlenn helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Drumreilly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh McGlenn to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute of the match Breannain McPaul shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdia Dempsey showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Breanainn Crowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Aengus Willson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geisill FC's Aengus Willson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breanainn Crowe in the 61st minute of play. Colmcille Frankson struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Aengus Willson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drumreilly. Ferdia Dempsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turlough Hutton in the 70th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Breanainn Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aengus Willson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bren McSteve made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Drumreilly's Colmcille Frankson. When Geisill FC's Turlough Hutton in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Drumreilly's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Bat McWilliam notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Drumreilly's Ferdia Dempsey. Ferdia Dempsey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 95th minute, but Ferdia Dempsey got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Drumreilly hanging dry this time. Hugh McGlenn was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 96 played minutes Drumreilly got a freekick which was hit by Hugh McGlenn. In the 97th minute of the match Tiarnan McAaron sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdia Dempsey skillfully saved the ball.
