Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bob Roberts got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Des Hanley during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Des Hanley hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. When Marc Dunlop came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Shenley City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Dunlop couldn't finish the play. Bob Roberts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marc Dunlop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zaq Stevens having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Harry Bittner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Calum Heywood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Theo Mayall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Roberts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walthamstow AFC were furious when Lloyd Toulson was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Walthamstow AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shenley City:s goal. The goalkeeper, Zaq Stevens, was totally fooled by Shenley City's Jason Phelps, who 30 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Warren Clay charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Warren Clay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harry Bittner was the one to do the kick off. Marc Dunlop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zaq Stevens having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Des Hanley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Shenley City booed when Walthamstow AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Des Hanley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Jason Phelps sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Walthamstow AFC's Zaq Stevens didn't even have to move. If Calum Heywood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Holbrook made a great header on Shenley City's corner, it was just that Walthamstow AFC's Zaq Stevens managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 80th match minute, Walthamstow AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russ Winehouse to maneuver through the defense. Calum Heywood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Theo Mayall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harry Bittner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zaq Stevens having to interfere. Zaq Stevens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Bittner in the 95th minute of play.
