Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Franz Crossman started the match with the kick off. After 23 minutes, Tod Griffiths mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oadby FC and the Fence Houses players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fence Houses booed when Oadby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Griffiths didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Fence Houses's Sly Halford got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oadby FC's goalkeeper Geoff Bowden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Richard Bridgewater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geoff Bowden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sly Halford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard Bridgewater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoff Bowden having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Richard Bridgewater got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justin Odell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Geoff Bowden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Bridgewater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoff Bowden having to interfere. Drew Holt took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronny Atherton. Ronny Atherton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richard Bridgewater to strike the kick off in the second half. Oadby FC's Geoff Bowden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Bridgewater in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justin Odell got free with Geoff Bowden in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the game, Gav Dobson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oadby FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fence Houses the free kick. Gav Dobson hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Jimmy Law shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geoff Bowden showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Richard Bridgewater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoff Bowden having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Justin Odell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fence Houses's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justin Odell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Fence Houses getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Basil Hopker hit a great ball. Franz Crossman struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ronny Atherton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oadby FC. Oadby FC's Geoff Bowden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Bridgewater in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Richard Bridgewater had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geoff Bowden. Oadby FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard Bridgewater was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Crossman in the 85th minute of play forced Fence Houses's goalkeeper Ronny Atherton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ash Hume scored 2-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronny Atherton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 97 minutes into the match, Drew Holt notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Fence Houses's Ronny Atherton. Ronny Atherton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew the final whistle, Oadby FC could leave the field as winners, despite Fence Houses having more of the ball for most of the match.
