Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kristian Sandell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ronny Atherton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Sandell, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Sly Halford hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. When Burgess Hill's Kristian Sandell in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fence Houses's goalie prevented a goal. In the 7th minute Kristian Sandell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Atherton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Justin Odell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Richard Bridgewater was extremely unlucky when he, in the 14th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Justin Odell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Noel Kearney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damion Seaman kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Richard Bridgewater struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Noel Kearney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fence Houses. Noel Kearney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Bridgewater in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Burgess Hill's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Bridgewater came free, but Noel Kearney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chaz Scott charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chaz Scott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Burgess Hill's Chaz Scott got a free kick in the 30th minute. When Fence Houses's Richard Bridgewater in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Burgess Hill's goalie prevented a goal. Kristian Sandell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Bridgewater got free with Noel Kearney in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Kristian Sandell came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Burgess Hill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Sandell couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Fence Houses getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rupert Sercombe hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Phillip Rawson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richard Bridgewater to strike the kick off in the second half. Fence Houses's Justin Odell got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Bridgewater in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Noel Kearney saved Burgess Hill from getting behind. Burgess Hill's Kristian Sandell pulled a muscle in his leg after 62 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Burgess Hill booed when Fence Houses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basil Hopker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Burgess Hill's Noel Kearney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justin Odell in the 67th minute of play. Richard Bridgewater received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Noel Kearney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel Kearney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Bridgewater in the 80th minute of the match. If Phillip Rawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rdth minute of the game Richard Bridgewater who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burgess Hill's Noel Kearney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Burgess Hill succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Fence Houses had controlled the match.
