Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Alan Chegwyn started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Oadby FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Dave Rowling hit a great ball. Franz Crossman scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alastair Downing, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Drew Holt in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alastair Downing saved Great Ayton United from getting behind. Oadby FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alf Dawson in the 12th minute. Alastair Downing came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Oadby FC's Franz Crossman. But to his dismay, Franz Crossman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Drew Holt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alastair Downing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franz Crossman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Oadby FC's Franz Crossman in 21 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Alastair Downing guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 25thth minute of the game Drew Holt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Great Ayton United's Alastair Downing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Great Ayton United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oadby FC the free kick. After 27 played minutes Great Ayton United got a freekick which was hit by Tony Horner. When Jack Jones fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Great Ayton United's protests and gave Jack Jones a yellow card for diving instead. If Drew Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alastair Downing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Crossman, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Franz Crossman succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Alastair Downing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franz Crossman's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Drew Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

Oadby FC's attack was well implemented in the 52nd minute, but when Franz Crossman was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 53rd match minute, Great Ayton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Pallister to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Great Ayton United's zone, Franz Crossman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Downing came out of the goal and Franz Crossman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Great Ayton United's Alastair Downing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Great Ayton United from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute Franz Crossman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alastair Downing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Great Ayton United's zone, Drew Holt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Downing came out of the goal and Drew Holt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Franz Crossman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oadby FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Franz Crossman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alastair Downing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Chesney Ottaway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geoff Bowden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chesney Ottaway in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Tod Griffiths was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oadby FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Great Ayton United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Oadby FC's Tod Griffiths got a free kick in the 75th minute. Nat Stonebridge, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Roy Laurie's late challenge caught a Great Ayton United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Laurie helped the player get up and apologised. Roy Laurie hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Geoff Bowden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chesney Ottaway in the 80th minute of play. Drew Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Downing having to interfere. Geoff Bowden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Chegwyn in the 89th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Oadby FC's Alastair Downing threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Franz Crossman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Geoff Bowden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Chegwyn in the 95th minute of play. The Great Ayton United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Oadby FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Oadby FC.
