Phillip Rawson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Oadby FC's Geoff Bowden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristian Sandell in the 6th minute of play. Kristian Sandell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geoff Bowden having to interfere. Geoff Bowden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Sandell, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Burgess Hill's goal looked a bit too open when Franz Crossman came free, but Noel Kearney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Burgess Hill's Noel Kearney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Drew Holt in the 15th minute of play. Noel Kearney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Crossman in the 18th minute of the match. Geoff Bowden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dale Ellershaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th play minute Phillip Rawson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Geoff Bowden. 1-0. Franz Crossman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drew Holt in the 37th minute of play forced Burgess Hill's goalkeeper Noel Kearney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phillip Rawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Geoff Bowden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
