In the 19th match minute, Exeter City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Maxell to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the game, Dane Bassett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Exeter City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Husbands Bosworth City the free kick. Dane Bassett kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Drew Burton sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Exeter City's Alastair Folan didn't even have to move. Damion Holbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Folan having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Husbands Bosworth City got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Hotte. With splendid footwork Jonathan Buxton arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 34th minute. After 37 played minutes Exeter City got a freekick which was hit by Leigh Crossley. Alastair Folan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ashley Hutchinson went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Exeter City's Alastair Folan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Exeter City from getting a goal against them. In the 60th match minute, Husbands Bosworth City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh Collins to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Drew Burton from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Alastair Folan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in Exeter City's zone, Ashley Hutchinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Folan came out of the goal and Ashley Hutchinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lance Brent kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Jonathan Buxton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Exeter City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Buxton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gary Winfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute Jonathan Buxton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary Winfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
