Michael Edison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Letheren in the 17th minute of the match. Ash Wiseman kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Danny Lilley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Keith Leeson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Danny Lilley came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Stockton-on-Tees fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danny Lilley couldn't finish the play. Stockton-on-Tees's Michael Edison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tod Letheren in the 35th minute of play. Michael Edison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tod Letheren, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 60 minutes of play, Stockton-on-Tees's Doug Dawson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keith Leeson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Michael Edison made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tod Stobbs in the 64th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sherborne's Tod Letheren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Michael Edison. That made the score 1-1 after 67 minutes of play. In the 80th minute, Philip Garlick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tod Stobbs got free with Michael Edison in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 84 minutes, Tod Letheren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sherborne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tod Letheren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Stockton-on-Tees booed when Sherborne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Woods didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vance Duxbury's late challenge caught a Sherborne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vance Duxbury helped the player get up and apologised. The Sherborne players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Stockton-on-Tees from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
