Doug Miller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeffrey Butler in the 4th minute of play. Ian Burkinshaw didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dylon Short went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 14th minute Colin Jump shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Burkinshaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doug Miller stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeffrey Butler's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Gerrards Cross AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jeffrey Butler came free, but Doug Miller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffrey Butler in the 24th minute of play forced Gerrards Cross AFC's goalkeeper Doug Miller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeffrey Butler received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Doug Miller came out and tried to block the shot, but Jeffrey Butler slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. Grant Frizzell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ian Burkinshaw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Jump in the 35th minute of play. Gerrards Cross AFC's Doug Miller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffrey Butler in the 36th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gerrards Cross AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Dean Cusack shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After a long run with the ball, Alfie Graydon did a trick in the 45th minute in front of Swinton Crucaders's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-2. An impressive performance by Gerrards Cross AFC's Alfie Graydon! After the first half Gerrards Cross AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dylon Short made a kick off. In the 55th minute Jeffrey Butler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doug Miller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Swinton Crucaders's Grant Frizzell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doug Miller made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Jeffrey Butler struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Doug Miller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Swinton Crucaders. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Jump in the 64th minute of play forced Swinton Crucaders's goalkeeper Ian Burkinshaw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jeffrey Butler, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 65 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Doug Miller was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Colin Jump hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfie Graydon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ian Burkinshaw made a huge save. Doug Miller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Frizzell in the 73rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Colin Jump during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grant Frizzell in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doug Miller saved Gerrards Cross AFC from getting behind. In the 78th minute, Dom Patten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doug Miller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffrey Butler, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Homes got free with Ian Burkinshaw in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Alfie Graydon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Burkinshaw made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfie Graydon in the 94th minute.
