James Hutchinson hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Daniel Steads short, quick shot in the 49thth minute got Austen Findley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Plumstead's Grant Rathmell got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the game, Denis Fitzgerald recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benji Leach. Denis Fitzgerald showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Tommy Turk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Austen Findley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
