Freddie Dixon might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sly Blackley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddie Dixon ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Welford booed when Ilford United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Coton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conan Goodall's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Stan Jordan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Frank Linford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Conan Goodall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerry Wildman made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Jerry Wildman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Stan Jordan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stan Jordan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conan Goodall, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Ilford United's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Garforth came free, but Stan Jordan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 minutes of play, Welford's Jerry Wildman made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stan Jordan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jerry Wildman struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Stan Jordan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welford. Stan Jordan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Wildman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ilford United's goalkeeper Stan Jordan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Welford getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Bill Garforth hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Wildman in the 71st minute of play forced Ilford United's goalkeeper Stan Jordan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute Bill Garforth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Jordan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ilford United's Stan Jordan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Knight in the 78th minute of play. Stan Jordan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Wildman, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the match, Ilford United's goal looked a bit too open when Conan Goodall came free, but Stan Jordan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
