Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Frankie Falkingham made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, Bentworth's goalkeeper Benji Peat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teddy Downing. Codnor's Orson Topham got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Codnor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Akins to maneuver through the defense. Bruce Nevin, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teddy Downing got free with Benji Peat in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Orson Topham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Benji Peat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Benji Peat managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Codnor's Teddy Downing fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Max Frost hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Danny Noble showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frankie Falkingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Frankie Falkingham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Codnor's Danny Noble was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jermaine Short sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 47 minutes, Teddy Downing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Codnor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teddy Downing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Stephen Dowrick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bentworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephen Dowrick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Noble breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ralf Oldham during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Codnor's Ralf Oldham got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Jermaine Short had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephen Dowrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Noble having to interfere. Codnor's Danny Noble proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Codnor from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orson Topham in the 67th minute of play forced Bentworth's goalkeeper Benji Peat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Frankie Falkingham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Danny Noble. Frankie Falkingham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orson Topham in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benji Peat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jermaine Short fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Noble having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Codnor's zone, Jermaine Short stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Noble came out of the goal and Jermaine Short tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
