In the 25th minute Roger Greaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Chinnor's Roger Greaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Den Hilton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Den Hilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Greaves in the 29th minute of play. Reggie Clayson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Alastair Hamer made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Reggie Clayson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alastair Hamer, passed just outside the right post. Den Hilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Fordham in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damion Sherwood in the 42nd minute of play forced Chinnor's goalkeeper Alastair Hamer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Den Hilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Greaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damion Sherwood was the one to do the kick off. Carlton Welsh hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Chinnor's Alastair Hamer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reggie Clayson in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eddie the Head's goalkeeper Den Hilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chinnor's Alastair Hamer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reggie Clayson in the 58th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Eddie the Head got a freekick which was hit by Calvin Bennett. Brett Norton struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Den Hilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chinnor. Alastair Hamer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reggie Clayson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Damion Sherwood notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Chinnor's Alastair Hamer. Alastair Hamer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Den Hilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Fordham in the 80th minute. Don Rusk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Den Hilton made a huge save. Danny Fordham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Den Hilton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Danny Fordham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Den Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Danny Fordham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chinnor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danny Fordham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
