The supporters of Bridgnorth AFC booed when Crystal Palace was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jez Litchfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Julian Oddy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Jez Litchfield took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Joey Pamplin to make any attempt to save it. Crystal Palace's Jez Litchfield got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Danny Merrill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Stockton in the 18th minute of play forced Crystal Palace's goalkeeper Dale Johnson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Julian Oddy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bridgnorth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Oddy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julian Oddy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vincent Morning hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Dale Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Oddy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Joey Pamplin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 37 minutes into the match, Tommy Stockton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dale Johnson. Crystal Palace's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tommy Stockton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Tommy Stockton scored 1-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dale Johnson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Oddy made a kick off. With his leg Dale Johnson managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Bridgnorth AFC's Tommy Stockton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 53rd minute, Dom Button hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Bridgnorth AFC's Jacob Blackwell got a free kick in the 55th minute. Danny Merrill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joey Pamplin having to interfere. Tommy Stockton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Oddy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Bridgnorth AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Tommy Stockton sped through Crystal Palace's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dale Johnson. Julian Oddy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Johnson having to interfere. Tommy Stockton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Dale Johnson made a huge save.
