The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Tommy Stockton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julian Oddy took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shaun Blain. Shaun Blain dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Bruce Baird hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Swingers's goalkeeper Shaun Blain, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the game, Ian Booth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Swingers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bridgnorth AFC the free kick. The supporters of Bridgnorth AFC booed when Swingers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Booth didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bridgnorth AFC's Julian Oddy in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Swingers's goalie prevented a goal. Jacob Blackwell kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Joey Pamplin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Armitstead, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Jacob Blackwell's late challenge caught a Swingers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Blackwell helped the player get up and apologised. Jacob Blackwell kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Oddy made a kick off. Charlie Armitstead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joey Pamplin having to interfere. Julian Oddy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dom Button took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Shaun Blain. Swingers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Charlie Armitstead scored 2-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joey Pamplin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Perry Archer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Swingers's supporters rose to their feet, but Perry Archer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joey Pamplin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Vincent Morning fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bridgnorth AFC's protests and gave Vincent Morning a yellow card for diving instead. Swingers's Shaun Blain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Oddy in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Swingers's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Stockton came free, but Shaun Blain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Stockton in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Blain prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Karl Sunderland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bridgnorth AFC's Joey Pamplin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Bridgnorth AFC from getting a goal against them. Shaun Blain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Oddy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Stockton in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shaun Blain saved Swingers from getting behind. Bridgnorth AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
