After 7 minutes, Alastair Morning mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Swingers and the Crystal Palace players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alastair Morning kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Shaun Blain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jez Litchfield's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Perry Archer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Johnson having to interfere. Dale Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perry Archer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Charlie Armitstead had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Swingers's Shaun Blain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Merrill in the 30th minute of play. If Jez Litchfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Swingers defense, Jez Litchfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shaun Blain. The Swingers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shaun Blain should have stopped the shot. Danny Kingston kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Alastair Morning sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dale Johnson skillfully saved the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Swingers's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Merrill came free, but Shaun Blain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Perry Archer made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Charlie Armitstead notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Crystal Palace's Dale Johnson. Dale Johnson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th minute, Perry Archer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Crystal Palace getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Keanu Venables hit a great ball. Perry Archer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Johnson having to interfere. The Swingers fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Swingers's Charlie Armitstead looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dale Johnson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perry Archer in the 81st minute of the match. With a little luck, Swingers's Shaun Blain got control of the ball when Danny Merrill tried to sneak it across the goal line. Swingers's Shaun Blain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Swingers from getting a goal against them. If Karl Sunderland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Swingers's Karl Sunderland got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Crystal Palace's Kristian Batty got a free kick in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Swingers had won after a very even match.
