Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Austin Elvins started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 6 played minutes Ilfracombe got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Barone. After a defensive mix-up in Smallfield's zone, Stan Falkingham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeff Edworthy came out of the goal and Stan Falkingham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 13 minutes, John-Paul Crawshaw managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smallfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but John-Paul Crawshaw was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Stan Falkingham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilfracombe's supporters rose to their feet, but Stan Falkingham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeff Edworthy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Smallfield's Ron Gunn got a free kick in the 18th minute. John-Paul Crawshaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Stefan Lemerond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan Lemerond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bobby Willis in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Smallfield's goalkeeper Jeff Edworthy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Smallfield getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Pierce Fleetham hit a great ball. Austin Elvins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeff Edworthy having to make a save. Jeff Edworthy was a little too slow when Austin Elvins got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 48thth minute of the game John-Paul Crawshaw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ilfracombe's Stefan Lemerond was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bobby Willis to strike the kick off in the second half. Stefan Lemerond stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bobby Willis's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute, Bobby Willis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Ilfracombe getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Rob Crossley hit a great ball. Austin Elvins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Edworthy having to interfere. Smallfield's Jeff Edworthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Falkingham in the 63rd minute of play. Jeff Edworthy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Falkingham in the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Smallfield's goal looked a bit too open when Stan Falkingham came free, but Jeff Edworthy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, Ilfracombe's Austin Elvins made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeff Edworthy was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Ilfracombe. Buster Oddy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jeff Edworthy. 3-1. When Austin Elvins came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Ilfracombe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Austin Elvins couldn't finish the play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ilfracombe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Smallfield. Lloyd Gardner stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stefan Lemerond. 3-2. A collision led to Ilfracombe getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Rob Crossley hit a great ball. After 98 played minutes Smallfield got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Willis.
