In the 18th minute, one of Rocker City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rocker City. With a little luck, Rocker City's Leigh Nowland got control of the ball when Olly Rowell tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chaz Reynolds in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ashley Read saved Newlyn East FC from getting behind. Chaz Reynolds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam Sanderson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ashley Read took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Sanderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Archie Doughty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Leigh Nowland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Newlyn East FC's zone, Adam Sanderson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ashley Read came out of the goal and Adam Sanderson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Newlyn East FC's Ashley Read played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Sanderson in the 39th minute of play. Nicky Harrison charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chaz Reynolds in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ashley Read prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ashley Read took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chaz Reynolds, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Reading hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adam Sanderson made a kick off. A collision led to Rocker City getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Carl Holden hit a great ball. Newlyn East FC's Olly Rowell managed to work through Rocker City's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Olly Rowell dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Archie Doughty in the 58th minute of play forced Rocker City's goalkeeper Leigh Nowland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Olly Rowell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newlyn East FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Rocker City's Chaz Reynolds got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
