Stu Warner kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Garry Bridgeman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Peacock in the 7th minute. Chapel en le frith United's Garry Bridgeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mickey Timmins in the 8th minute of play. Chapel en le frith United's Garry Bridgeman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Chapel en le frith United from getting a goal against them. Allan Slabber scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beinn Reddington, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricky Downham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Beinn Reddington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Chapel en le frith United getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Stu Warner hit a great ball. Pat Lomas shot from long distance in the 25th minute, but Garry Bridgeman was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. If Mickey Timmins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Peacock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Garry Bridgeman made a huge save. In the 31st minute of the match Gregory Duffield sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beinn Reddington skillfully saved the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Chapel en le frith United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keanu Senior to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Wheaton Aston booed when Chapel en le frith United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keanu Senior didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garry Bridgeman made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Neil Peacock sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Neil Peacock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wheaton Aston's supporters rose to their feet, but Neil Peacock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garry Bridgeman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mickey Timmins to strike the kick off in the second half. Neil Peacock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricky Downham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Beinn Reddington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wheaton Aston's Glenn Croyden got a free kick in the 59th minute. Wheaton Aston's Beinn Reddington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricky Downham in the 62nd minute of play. Garry Bridgeman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil Peacock in the 65th minute of the match. Keanu Senior struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Beinn Reddington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapel en le frith United. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickey Timmins in the 75th minute of play forced Chapel en le frith United's goalkeeper Garry Bridgeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Allan Slabber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 85th minute of the match Chris Dowrick completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chris Dowrick a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Chapel en le frith United booed when Wheaton Aston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Dowrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Slabber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beinn Reddington having to interfere. Chapel en le frith United's Keanu Senior got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chapel en le frith United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
