In the 32ndth minute of the game Alistair Boxall who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Walmley FC's Shane Potter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Neil Townsend shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Potter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Walmley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Pilkington to maneuver through the defense. Jeff Moorhouse took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Shane Potter. Walmley FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Parbold City booed when Walmley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Des Pennant didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Damien Hickson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Parbold City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alistair Boxall to strike the kick off in the second half. If Neil Townsend had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shane Potter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alistair Boxall, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. A collision led to Walmley FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Colin Pilkington hit a great ball. After 93 played minutes Walmley FC got a freekick which was hit by Des Pennant. When Beinn North fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Parbold City's protests and gave Beinn North a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Parbold City got a freekick which was hit by Beinn North. In the 96th minute Damien Hickson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kelvin Pryor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Parbold City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
