After 5 minutes of play, Walmley FC's Damien Hickson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daryl Atkinson was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 10 minutes, Zack Broad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walmley FC and the Hurst Green players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Walmley FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Zack Broad hit a great ball. Shane Potter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Verne Church in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Walmley FC's goalkeeper Shane Potter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Shaun Bodsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Walmley FC's Shane Potter got control of the ball when Verne Church tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grant Mulligan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daryl Atkinson having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Henry Skinner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shane Potter was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Henry Skinner capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Henry Skinner really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Hurst Green's Henry Skinner got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Verne Church fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Potter having to interfere. Grant Mulligan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damien Hickson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daryl Atkinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The supporters of Walmley FC booed when Hurst Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zack Seward didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Skinner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henry Skinner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Grant Mulligan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walmley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Mulligan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daryl Atkinson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shane Potter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Skinner in the 63rd minute of play. Verne Church recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Hurst Green's Daryl Atkinson got control of the ball when Grant Mulligan tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Hickson in the 70th minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Daryl Atkinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daryl Atkinson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grant Mulligan in the 71st minute. Damien Hickson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daryl Atkinson having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Osborn during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hurst Green's Zack Seward got a free kick in the 77th minute. Grant Mulligan came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daryl Atkinson could save by the left post. Henry Skinner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Potter having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Walmley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Warburton to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, Hurst Green's Henry Skinner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shane Potter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zack Seward during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Walmley FC booed when Hurst Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zack Seward didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Grant Mulligan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Walmley FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Hurst Green from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
