Duncan Chadwick was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Stratford getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Rex Peacock hit a great ball. The supporters of Stratford booed when Mildenhall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Syd Dawes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jermaine Prince didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dennis Swanson went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Duncan Chadwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Major, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, Stratford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chaz Floyd to maneuver through the defense. Vance Denham lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Stratford a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Donald Townson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mildenhall FC's Duncan Chadwick. 1-3. When Loyd Tyson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Mildenhall FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Loyd Tyson couldn't finish the play. Dennis Swanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Prince having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Kirk Little ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duncan Chadwick was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Stratford's zone, Loyd Tyson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jermaine Prince came out of the goal and Loyd Tyson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kirk Little made a kick off. The supporters of Stratford booed when Mildenhall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierce Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Duncan Chadwick successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Donald Townson came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Stratford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donald Townson couldn't finish the play. Kirk Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roy Major could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Duncan Chadwick made a huge save. Jermaine Prince didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Loyd Tyson went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Jermaine Prince took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Swanson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mildenhall FC's Duncan Chadwick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Mildenhall FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Mildenhall FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Loyd Tyson hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Stratford's Duncan Chadwick threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rex Peacock, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Dennis Swanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mildenhall FC's Duncan Chadwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Little in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match Donald Townson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Duncan Chadwick skillfully saved the ball. After 90 played minutes Mildenhall FC got a freekick which was hit by Syd Dawes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Little in the 96th minute of play forced Mildenhall FC's goalkeeper Duncan Chadwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Stratford had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
