Vauxhall United's CJ Fletcher got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Vauxhall United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dale Salt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Quentin Richardson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from CJ Fletcher, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. When Brockenhurst City's Benjamin Bolton in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vauxhall United's goalie prevented a goal. If Dale Salt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Salt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Vic Winterbine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Rawson in the 42nd minute of play forced Brockenhurst City's goalkeeper Quentin Richardson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Chip Heywood fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vauxhall United's protests and gave Chip Heywood a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vauxhall United! The referee gave Brockenhurst City a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gareth Hewitt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vauxhall United's Vic Winterbine. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

56 minutes into the match, Brockenhurst City's goalkeeper Quentin Richardson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by CJ Fletcher. Dale Salt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cody Hamilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Quentin Richardson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when CJ Fletcher got free with Quentin Richardson in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benjamin Bolton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dale Salt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Vic Winterbine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vic Winterbine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Bolton in the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Bolton in the 81st minute of play forced Vauxhall United's goalkeeper Vic Winterbine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dale Salt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vic Winterbine having to interfere. Benjamin Bolton struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Vic Winterbine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brockenhurst City. Gareth Hewitt, 101 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Brockenhurst City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
