Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ronny Stubbs got the match started through his kick off. When Austen Street fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chiswick's protests and gave Austen Street a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Longwell Green United booed when Chiswick was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Austen Street didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute, Rick Grigg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rupert Grayson hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Ronny Stubbs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronny Stubbs kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Sean Ball charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sean Ball the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Chiswick getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Sean Ball hit a great ball. Eddie Ainsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ash Basham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eddie Ainsworth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Ash Basham made a huge save. Eddie Ainsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Denis Reed made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Longwell Green United's Jeff Byfield got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ash Basham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeff Byfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute Eddie Ainsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ash Basham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Chiswick's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Stubbs came free, but Ash Basham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ash Basham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Stubbs in the 70th minute of play. After some careless play in the Chiswick defense, Ronny Stubbs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ash Basham. The Chiswick fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ash Basham should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Stubbs in the 78th minute of play forced Chiswick's goalkeeper Ash Basham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
