Roy Noble succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Jeff Haylock took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Johnny Digby to make any attempt to save it. If Shane Watkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeff Haylock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Digby having to interfere. Carl Lambert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shane Watkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvester Yorke was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Shane Watkinson notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Wigmore United's Carl Lambert. Carl Lambert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57th minute, Jeff Haylock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnny Digby was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 61st minute Silvester Yorke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Lambert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marek Whitmore during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marek Whitmore hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Silvester Yorke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes, Charlie Rain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wigmore United and the Wimbledon City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Wigmore United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Rain to maneuver through the defense. Silvester Yorke's late challenge caught a Wigmore United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvester Yorke helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Wimbledon City getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Silvester Yorke hit a great ball. Carl Lambert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Watkinson in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Charlie Rain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Terry Shepherd kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Sammy Bridge, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Roy Noble managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wigmore United's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Noble was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Digby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roy Noble fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Digby having to interfere. Jeff Haylock struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Johnny Digby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigmore United. In the 93rdth minute of the game Jeff Haylock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wimbledon City's Johnny Digby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roy Noble received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Johnny Digby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wigmore United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
