If Leon Rothwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 7 minutes, Johnathon Joy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peacehaven and the Westbury-sub-Mendip United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Westbury-sub-Mendip United booed when Peacehaven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathon Joy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwyn Mann got a throw-in 19 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Owen Bull. 30 minutes into the match, Peacehaven's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Rothwell came free, but Ian Fisher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brynn Gray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George McKeown having to interfere. Ian Fisher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Rothwell in the 44th minute of the match. Gwyn Mann shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, Peacehaven's Ian Fisher got control of the ball when Leon Rothwell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brynn Gray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. George McKeown tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George McKeown showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brynn Gray, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Brynn Gray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Leon Rothwell kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ian Fisher. That made the score 0-1 in the 81 minute of play. When Brynn Gray came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Peacehaven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brynn Gray couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Westbury-sub-Mendip United getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Andre Wishart hit a great ball. The supporters of Westbury-sub-Mendip United booed when Peacehaven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathon Joy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peacehaven's Ian Fisher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Peacehaven from getting a goal against them. Leon Rothwell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ian Fisher firmly grabbed it by the left post. Westbury-sub-Mendip United played a much better game than Peacehaven and deserved their victory. The Peacehaven players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
