But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Connor Cross couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Clapham AFC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Quentin Strongman hit a great ball. In the 6th minute of the match, Louis Seabourne got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bobby Stride was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bobby Stride made an important save on a dangerous shot by Louis Seabourne in the 8th minute. When High Wycombe's Louis Seabourne in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Clapham AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Connor Cross kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Stan Fletcher was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clapham AFC's goalkeeper Bobby Stride, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Stan Fletcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Clapham AFC's goalkeeper Bobby Stride, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 53 played minutes Clapham AFC got a freekick which was hit by Connor Cross. Bobby Stride showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Seabourne, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute Louis Seabourne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Stride saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in High Wycombe's zone, Quentin Strongman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Beasley came out of the goal and Quentin Strongman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bobby Stride came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by High Wycombe's Stan Fletcher. But to his dismay, Stan Fletcher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Bobby Stride showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Fletcher in the 69th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Stan Fletcher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. High Wycombe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stan Fletcher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Stan Fletcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bobby Stride stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stan Fletcher's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Stan Fletcher struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Bobby Stride didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for High Wycombe. 82 minutes into the match, Stan Fletcher notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Clapham AFC's Bobby Stride. Bobby Stride was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 96th minute, Stan Fletcher left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The High Wycombe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. High Wycombe walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
