The wind increased when Philip Mudd made the kick off in the second half. Johnnie Holland hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. John Slabber took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vince Piercy. South Shields's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 59thth minute of the game Bradley Halliwell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but South Shields's Vince Piercy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Stuart Welch notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Lowton's Noel Breeden.
