Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Simeon Whiteley started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Whitwell's zone, Wes McGovern stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iain Buchanan came out of the goal and Wes McGovern tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 3rdth minute of the game Zack Hatcher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitwell's Iain Buchanan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Whitwell's Simeon Whiteley slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jari Henriksson. That made the score 1-1 after 10 minutes of play. If Wes McGovern had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jari Henriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rio Fleetham in the 23rd minute. Iain Buchanan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zack Hatcher, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With 36 minutes on the clock, Vance Greenwood commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. With a little luck, Leek City's Jari Henriksson got control of the ball when Sammy Seagrave tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Wes McGovern had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simeon Whiteley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wes McGovern made a kick off. Wes McGovern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wes McGovern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain Buchanan having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Leek City's Wes McGovern sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iain Buchanan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 79 minutes, Sammy Seagrave managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitwell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Seagrave was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 79 played minutes Leek City got a freekick which was hit by Carl Bartlett. Kristopher Small took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jari Henriksson. Leek City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Wes McGovern managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leek City's supporters rose to their feet, but Wes McGovern was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iain Buchanan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simeon Whiteley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Jari Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Seagrave in the 99th minute of play forced Leek City's goalkeeper Jari Henriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Leek City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
