Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Brighouse's Dylon Davey started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dylon Davey in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stewart Moxey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Dylon Davey came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Brighouse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dylon Davey couldn't finish the play. Andy Riley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from CJ Gilchrist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Dylon Davey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Stewart Moxey, 1-1. After 28 minutes, Samuel Clapham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kirkby in Ashfield and the Brighouse players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kirkby in Ashfield's Stewart Moxey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Kirkby in Ashfield from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Woodcock to make the kick off. CJ Gilchrist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Riley having to interfere. 54 minutes into the game, Rick Jackson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kirkby in Ashfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brighouse the free kick. After a rather tough play, Kirkby in Ashfield's Rick Jackson got a free kick in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Kirkby in Ashfield's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Higgins came free, but Stewart Moxey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ross Bull took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stewart Moxey. Kirkby in Ashfield's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 68th minute, Nicholas Higgins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. CJ Gilchrist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Riley having to interfere. If Nicholas Higgins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Andy Riley successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Stewart Moxey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Davey in the 85th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Liam Woodcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Riley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CJ Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 95 played minutes Kirkby in Ashfield got a freekick which was hit by Buster McGovern.
