In the 20th minute, Carl Winter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lewis Dowrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antony Linkletter in the 33rd minute of the match. Billie Drake might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lewis Dowrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Billie Drake ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Kingswinford booed when St Helens FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Winter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th match minute, St Helens FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Winter to maneuver through the defense. Cody Blackwater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kingswinford's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leigh Branson in the 50th minute. The corner led Kingswinford's Leigh Branson to fire away a dangerous shot which Lewis Dowrick despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Neil Beale made a kick off. In the 55th minute Cody Blackwater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Dowrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th match minute, St Helens FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Beale to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute of the match, Billie Drake got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lewis Dowrick was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Antony Linkletter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Den Ward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Beale in the 71st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Lewis Dowrick successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lewis Dowrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antony Linkletter in the 75th minute of play. Neil Beale charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Neil Beale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Billie Drake struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Lewis Dowrick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kingswinford. Lewis Dowrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Billie Drake in the 88th minute. A collision led to St Helens FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Vance Almond hit a great ball. Billie Drake's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lewis Dowrick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
