Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trevor Allwright started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Yeovil City getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Keith Bowler hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Simeon Nightingale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rory Fleetwood stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paul Atkins's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Paul Atkins notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Yeovil City's Rory Fleetwood. Rory Fleetwood was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rory Fleetwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Atkins in the 14th minute of the match. Yeovil City's Rory Fleetwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Atkins in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Yeovil City's zone, Paul Atkins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rory Fleetwood came out of the goal and Paul Atkins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yeovil City's Glenn Hay shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 28th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hayden Pelc but with some difficulty. Simeon Nightingale scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rory Fleetwood, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute Trevor Allwright shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayden Pelc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Keith Bowler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yeovil City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Wood Green's zone, Trevor Allwright stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Cotterill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simeon Nightingale was the one to do the kick off. Rory Fleetwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simeon Nightingale in the 60th minute of the match. Hayden Pelc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trevor Allwright in the 61st minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Wood Green's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor Allwright came free, but Hayden Pelc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Wood Green's Simeon Nightingale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rory Fleetwood narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Larry Oddy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 85 minutes, Gus Haskell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wood Green and the Yeovil City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Trevor Allwright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Wood Green supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wood Green would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
