Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ritchie Sollit made the kick off which started today's match. Mark Townson's late challenge caught a Lingdale88's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Townson helped the player get up and apologised. If Gary Hales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darius Boothroyd blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jake Greaves having to make a save. In the 11th match minute, Lingdale88 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benji Hardcastle to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Gary Hales got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 16th minute, Darius Boothroyd fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jake Greaves, passed just outside the right post. When Gary Hales came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Eye fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Hales couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Lingdale88 defense, Darius Boothroyd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jake Greaves. The Lingdale88 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jake Greaves should have stopped the shot. Lingdale88's Jake Greaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Hales in the 25th minute of play. Bradley Rashleigh hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ken Dothery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ken Dothery came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Lingdale88 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ken Dothery couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lingdale88 booed when Eye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Townson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Eye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Townson to maneuver through the defense. Howard Sheringham's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Micheal Osbourne - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gary Hales was the one to do the kick off. Ruben Locke charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Locke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Lingdale88's Ruben Locke got a free kick in the 51st minute. Vance Wiltshire, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jake Greaves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gary Hales went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ritchie Sollit in the 66th minute of play forced Eye's goalkeeper Micheal Osbourne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ken Dothery managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lingdale88's supporters rose to their feet, but Ken Dothery was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Micheal Osbourne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Micheal Osbourne successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. During the 75th minute of the match Mark Townson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mark Townson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Eye's Mark Townson got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute, Darius Boothroyd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jake Greaves was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 83rd minute Darius Boothroyd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Greaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Greaves came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Eye's Darius Boothroyd. But to his dismay, Darius Boothroyd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Eye fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lingdale88 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
