Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jonathon Pack got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Jonathon Pack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thatcham FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathon Pack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zane Prendergast breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rupert Hayes during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes Preston North End got a freekick which was hit by Rupert Hayes. If Gary Flack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josh Caine struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Zane Prendergast didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thatcham FC. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dale Wilmott to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Jonathon Pack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zane Prendergast saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Iain Myers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Preston North End's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thatcham FC the free kick. After 56 played minutes Preston North End got a freekick which was hit by Iain Myers. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathon Pack in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zane Prendergast prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iain Myers hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Josh Caine fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zane Prendergast, passed just outside the right post. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thatcham FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! Reggie Watson had in the 70thth minute some difficulties stopping Will Peake's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Dale Wilmott came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Preston North End fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Wilmott couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Thatcham FC booed when Preston North End was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gary Flack didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vic Shearer hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josh Caine got free with Zane Prendergast in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Preston North End's Iain Myers got a free kick in the 86th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Preston North End's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathon Pack came free, but Zane Prendergast reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathon Pack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Zane Prendergast tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chaz Read kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the match Phil Dibb shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zane Prendergast showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
