When Shane Backhouse came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Kesgrave FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shane Backhouse couldn't finish the play. Neil Bridgewater succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. The supporters of Admiral William Brown booed when Kesgrave FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Hutchinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Backhouse in the 23rd minute of play forced Admiral William Brown's goalkeeper Fred Campbell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Sean Hutchinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Shane Backhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Hutchinson in the 31st minute of play forced Admiral William Brown's goalkeeper Fred Campbell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Sean Hutchinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Campbell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andy Hargreaves kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Backhouse in the 34th minute of play forced Admiral William Brown's goalkeeper Fred Campbell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Shane Backhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 36 minutes, Kurt Brooks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kesgrave FC and the Admiral William Brown players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes Kesgrave FC got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Brooks. Fred Campbell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Backhouse in the 39th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Shane Backhouse notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Admiral William Brown's Fred Campbell. Fred Campbell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Neil Bridgewater made a kick off. Fred Campbell was a little too slow when Sean Hutchinson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-2. Neil Bridgewater struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Antony Holbrook didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Admiral William Brown. Admiral William Brown's Neil Bridgewater got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute of the match, Sean Hutchinson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fred Campbell saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Shane Backhouses short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Fred Campbell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 77th minute, Lawrence Plummer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute of the match Nathanial Burnham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antony Holbrook showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Kesgrave FC's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Bridgewater came free, but Antony Holbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Duncan Downes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Kesgrave FC booed when Admiral William Brown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathanial Burnham didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Kesgrave FC's Marty Brearley broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Antony Holbrook came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Admiral William Brown's Duncan Downes. But to his dismay, Duncan Downes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 97th minute, Shane Backhouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
