Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Thom Newlyn made the kick off which started today's match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacob Bowen during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jacob Bowen kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Denzil Bacon was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Graham Reid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thom Newlyn in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Adrian Leslie put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Graham Reid. In the 16th minute, one of Tunbridge Wells City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tunbridge Wells City. The goalkeeper, Graham Reid, was totally fooled by Everton's Darren Sears, who 19 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Graham Reid took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thom Newlyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marlon Cunningham struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Lenny Bilham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tunbridge Wells City. 37 minutes into the match, Jim Selby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenny Bilham. Everton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jim Selby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Jim Selby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tunbridge Wells City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Selby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenny Bilham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Everton booed when Tunbridge Wells City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denzil Bacon didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marlon Cunningham was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Leslie in the 58th minute of play forced Tunbridge Wells City's goalkeeper Graham Reid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thom Newlyn struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Graham Reid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Everton. Ozzy Varley kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Denzil Bacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenny Bilham having to interfere. Victor Endean might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lenny Bilham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Endean ran back to his position shaking his head. Adrian Leslie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graham Reid having to interfere. Tunbridge Wells City's Jim Selby suffered a concussion in the 88th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Ozzy Varley fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Everton's protests and gave Ozzy Varley a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tunbridge Wells City booed when Everton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ozzy Varley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Graham Reid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Leslie, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. After 101 minutes Tunbridge Wells City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darren Sears who took care of the corner kick. The Everton support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
