Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jimmy Chambers made the kick off which started today's match. After 2 played minutes Louth got a freekick which was hit by Rod Izzard. Glyn Charie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Green's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Garth Green fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Charie having to interfere. Louth's Glyn Charie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Louth from getting a goal against them. After having played for 15 minutes, Jimmy Chambers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Louth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimmy Chambers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimmy Chambers in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bart Wood saved Hoylake from getting behind. Glyn Charie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Glenn Ratcliffe went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Louth's Freddie Longden got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 27 minutes, Freddie Longden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Louth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddie Longden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute Jimmy Chambers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bart Wood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bart Wood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie Longden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Hoylake got a freekick which was hit by Robert Moon. 37 minutes into the match, Freddie Longden notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hoylake's Bart Wood. Bart Wood was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Freddie Longden might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bart Wood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddie Longden ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Louth booed when Hoylake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Owen Smith didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Freddie Longden in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bart Wood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garth Green made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Louth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamal Slatter to maneuver through the defense. Garth Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Garth Green hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Jamal Slatter shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bart Wood showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Garth Green received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Glyn Charie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glyn Charie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glenn Ratcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 72 played minutes, Hoylake's Owen Smith shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Glyn Charie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hoylake reached it. In the 74th minute, Nick Dowrick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy Chambers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bart Wood having to interfere. Jimmy Chambers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bart Wood having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmy Chambers in the 82nd minute of play forced Hoylake's goalkeeper Bart Wood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Louth's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Green came free, but Glyn Charie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glyn Charie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Green in the 88th minute of play. When Rueben Naisbitt fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Louth's protests and gave Rueben Naisbitt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Louth getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Rueben Naisbitt hit a great ball. Freddie Longden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bart Wood having to interfere. Garth Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
