Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Malcolm Dodgson started the match with the kick off. Hayle's Malcolm Dodgson got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hayle's Phil Brewer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelvin Bower in the 10th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Trevor Legzdins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hayle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kendal the free kick. After 11 played minutes Hayle got a freekick which was hit by Trevor Legzdins. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aaron Douglas in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phil Brewer saved Hayle from getting behind. Bobby White sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aaron Douglas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phil Brewer having to make a save. Phil Brewer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Douglas, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Kelvin Bower shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Phil Brewer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kendal's Matthew Ryder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm Dodgson in the 21st minute of play. If Malcolm Dodgson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthew Ryder made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Rex Cryan sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Hayle's zone, Aaron Douglas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Brewer came out of the goal and Aaron Douglas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Hayle's Rex Cryan got a free kick in the 34th minute. Phil Brewer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Douglas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Bobby White had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phil Brewer. Hayle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bobby White was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Rex Cryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Kendal were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Aaron Douglas made the kick off in the second half. Rex Cryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Ryder having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bobby White got free with Phil Brewer in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trevor Legzdins was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 58 played minutes Hayle got a freekick which was hit by Trevor Legzdins. With a little luck, Hayle's Phil Brewer got control of the ball when Bobby White tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rex Cryan struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Matthew Ryder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hayle. Mike Martin kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Rex Cryan's late challenge caught a Kendal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rex Cryan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kendal booed when Hayle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rex Cryan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phil Brewer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aaron Douglas went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Phil Brewer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Douglas in the 71st minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Aaron Douglas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kendal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Douglas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Bobby White had to leave the field with a concussion. In the 76th minute, Travis Stone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kendal's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 77th minute of the game, when Frank Brazier after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Hayle's goal. Frank Brazier was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. If Aaron Douglas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Rex Cryan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hayle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Mike Martin got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Kendal getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Mike Martin hit a great ball.
