Keanu Gaskell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, one of Marske-by-the-Sea United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marske-by-the-Sea United. The referee gave North Petherton United a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jerome Cawood, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Marske-by-the-Sea United's Allan Cardwell. 1-1. Pete Seagrave sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ritchie Bzeu in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Allan Cardwell saved Marske-by-the-Sea United from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ritchie Bzeu in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allan Cardwell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Freddie Lawson fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Petherton United's protests and gave Freddie Lawson a yellow card for diving instead. Pat Whieldon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ritchie Bzeu struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Allan Cardwell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Petherton United. Pete Seagrave's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerry Crichton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Kristopher Fairbank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ritchie Bzeu in the 49th minute of play forced Marske-by-the-Sea United's goalkeeper Allan Cardwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ritchie Bzeu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, North Petherton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olly Sissons to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 55 minutes, Pete Seagrave managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marske-by-the-Sea United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pete Seagrave was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the North Petherton United defense, Pete Seagrave kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerry Crichton. The North Petherton United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerry Crichton should have stopped the shot. Pete Seagrave sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 98 minutes into the match, North Petherton United's goal looked a bit too open when Dylon Goodman came free, but Gerry Crichton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
