Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dave Chivers started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Formby United's zone, Sol Blacknell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tosh Morcom came out of the goal and Sol Blacknell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Steve Dunne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rupert Eagles. Milton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steve Dunne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Freddie Hylton's late challenge caught a Formby United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Freddie Hylton helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Milton getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Freddie Hylton hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, Formby United's Nicholas Gibbs broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rupert Eagles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Chivers in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Steve Dunne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rupert Eagles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Freddie Hylton got his second yellow card in the match during the 39th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Milton's Freddie Hylton got a free kick in the 40th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sol Blacknell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Formby United's Tosh Morcom got control of the ball when Sol Blacknell tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Milton getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Richie Walton hit a great ball. Nicholas Gibbs kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Milton! 69 minutes into the match, Steve Dunne notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Milton's Rupert Eagles. Rupert Eagles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 72 minutes, Ash Butterworth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Milton and the Formby United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Milton's Ash Butterworth got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Steve Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Eagles having to interfere. In the 87th minute Dave Chivers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Eagles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Chivers in the 92nd minute of play forced Milton's goalkeeper Rupert Eagles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Formby United fully deserved thier win.
