After 4 played minutes Chelsea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Allan Bye. Stewart Bakewell kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Chelsea F.C.'s Ronan Fordham slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Richard Horsell. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Ronan Fordham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Richard Horsell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 17th minute Ronan Fordham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Horsell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chelsea F.C.'s Roy Sadler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Bennett in the 18th minute of play. Roy Sadler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aaron Bennett went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 27 minutes of play, Dunstable City's Simeon Wheeler made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy Sadler was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timothy Niven kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Kenny Sheene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Dunstable City's goalkeeper Richard Horsell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronan Fordham. Roy Sadler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simeon Wheeler, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The Chelsea F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dunstable City were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simeon Wheeler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simeon Wheeler in the 54th minute of play forced Chelsea F.C.'s goalkeeper Roy Sadler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Ronan Fordham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunstable City's Richard Horsell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Dunstable City getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Aaron Bennett hit a great ball. Ronan Fordham succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Ronan Fordham put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Richard Horsell. Daryl Senior hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Chelsea F.C. defense, Stewart Bakewell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roy Sadler. The Chelsea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roy Sadler should have stopped the shot. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelsea F.C.'s goalkeeper Roy Sadler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Dunstable City's goal looked a bit too open when Ronan Fordham came free, but Richard Horsell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute Simeon Wheeler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Sadler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes Chelsea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Niven. Dunstable City were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Chelsea F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felix Corrigan took the corner. With a little luck, Chelsea F.C.'s Roy Sadler got control of the ball when Vern Lynch tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronan Fordham in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Horsell saved Dunstable City from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dunstable City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
