Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Norman Walton made the kick off and thus started the match. derby county's Quentin Chivers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Medley in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Jim Seward hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quentin Chivers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Monk in the 8th minute of play. Dean Burgess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dean Burgess in the 13th minute of play forced Annscroft's goalkeeper Ivan Hornsby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Hornsby made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Trey McKeown sent off a good shot on target. derby county's Quentin Chivers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremy Monk in the 22nd minute of play. After some careless play in the derby county defense, Jeremy Monk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quentin Chivers. The derby county fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quentin Chivers should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, derby county's Terry Corcoran got a free kick in the 26th minute. Quentin Chivers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Medley in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Sidney Kear notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of derby county's Quentin Chivers. Quentin Chivers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Norman Walton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Burgess might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Hornsby. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dean Burgess ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malcolm Love during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Annscroft was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Love to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes derby county got a freekick which was hit by Jim Seward. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
If Norman Walton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dean Burgess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Burgess came free, but Ivan Hornsby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Annscroft's Quentin Chivers threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Billie Clough, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 60th minute, Dean Burgess made a precise shot to the right of Ivan Hornsby. Annscroft's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 66 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Burgess came free, but Ivan Hornsby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match, Luke Medley tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Quentin Chivers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 74th minute, Sidney Kear made a precise shot to the right of Quentin Chivers. derby county's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norman Walton in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Hornsby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Annscroft's Ivan Hornsby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Burgess in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Dean Burgess had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Hornsby. Annscroft's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dean Burgess was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. The Annscroft players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
