Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) With a little luck, Moon Wizards United's Sid Illingworth got control of the ball when Martyn Goldsmith tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Widnes booed when Moon Wizards United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Den Winstanley didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Widnes getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Jo Longstaff hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, Simon Sykes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute of the match Moon Wizards United got a corner. Widnes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Micheal Mitchell-King ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 12thth minute of the game Den Winstanley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Widnes's Brett Lemerond was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Moon Wizards United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Martyn Goldsmith fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 19 minutes, John-Paul Hylton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moon Wizards United's supporters crossed their fingers, but John-Paul Hylton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Den Winstanley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brett Lemerond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Den Winstanley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brett Lemerond having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Den Winstanley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute Den Winstanley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brett Lemerond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Zach Fucks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brett Lemerond was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, John-Paul Hylton put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Brett Lemerond. Lennie Parry hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Sid Illingworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Ackroyd in the 41st minute of the match. Widnes were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Moon Wizards United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Damian Floyd took the corner. Damian Floyd made a great header on Widnes's corner, it was just that Moon Wizards United's Sid Illingworth managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Marcus Ackroyd made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Den Winstanley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moon Wizards United's supporters rose to their feet, but Den Winstanley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brett Lemerond breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damian Floyd took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sid Illingworth. Moon Wizards United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Den Winstanley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Brett Lemerond. That made the score 0-3 in the 62 minute of play. Sid Illingworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Ackroyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Ackroyd hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sid Illingworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Ackroyd in the 71st minute of play. Brett Lemerond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Paul Hylton in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, John-Paul Hylton recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brett Lemerond. John-Paul Hylton showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 92 minutes into the match, Moon Wizards United's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Ackroyd came free, but Sid Illingworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Widnes's goal looked a bit too open when John-Paul Hylton came free, but Brett Lemerond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John-Paul Hylton in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brett Lemerond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match was over Moon Wizards United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Widnes throughout the match.
