Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kevin Sykes kicked off to start the match. Tris Heslop hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. If John-Paul Wheeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jimmy Hepburn hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Piers Slator showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonny Stone, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. With his leg Romeo Hutchins managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Omega United's Patrick Bond fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 17 played minutes, Melton Mowbray FC's Des Bridgeman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Piers Slator came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Melton Mowbray FC reached it. Tony Scrivener fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Slator having to interfere. In the 24th minute Kevin Sykes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Hutchins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Jerome Bennet notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Omega United's Piers Slator. Piers Slator was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute, Kevin Sykes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Omega United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Melton Mowbray FC's John-Paul Wheeler got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Melton Mowbray FC's Romeo Hutchins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Melton Mowbray FC from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John-Paul Wheeler to strike the kick off in the second half. Omega United's Loyd Pearce got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeo Hutchins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Bond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jerome Bennet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Slator having to interfere. In the 62nd minute of the match, John-Paul Wheeler tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Piers Slator saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Piers Slator made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Jonny Stone sent off a good shot on target. Oliver Bow lost his temper 65 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Omega United! Piers Slator went to the wrong direction when Jerome Bennet was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Jonny Stone got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. John-Paul Wheeler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Piers Slator tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brynn Dowdall's late challenge caught a Omega United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brynn Dowdall helped the player get up and apologised. Jonny Stones short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Piers Slator to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Omega United getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jimmy Hepburn hit a great ball.
