3 minutes into the match, Grant Dickner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philip Barratt. Border Jets FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grant Dickner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Philip Barratt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Illingworth in the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Great Bookham United's Alfred Gilroy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Philip Barratt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Owen Wallbank's late challenge caught a Border Jets FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Owen Wallbank helped the player get up and apologised. Great Bookham United's Grant Dickner got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philip Barratt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chesney Bull in the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Owen Wallbank had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philip Barratt. Border Jets FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Owen Wallbank was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a rather tough play, Great Bookham United's Pierre Saville got a free kick in the 31st minute. Phil McNiven acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 33rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Peter Street. Ozzy Parkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Phil McNiven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Great Bookham United's Rob Sykes got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute, Ray Golding ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phil McNiven was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Ozzy Parkinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Phil McNiven read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Philip Barratt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfred Gilroy went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After 49 played minutes Border Jets FC got a freekick which was hit by Brett Farrow. Philip Barratt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quentin Rooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. After the first half Great Bookham United were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ozzy Parkinson to make the kick off. Philip Barratt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Illingworth in the 54th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Peter Street put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 58 minutes, Great Bookham United's Quentin Rooney got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Philip Barratt. With an all-out effort, Great Bookham United's Philip Barratt threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chesney Bull, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 67 minutes into the game, Ruben Britton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Border Jets FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Great Bookham United the free kick. In the 67th minute, Ruben Britton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, Grant Dickner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip Barratt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Dickner in the 70th minute of play. Philip Barratt made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Alfred Gilroy sent off a good shot on target. Philip Barratt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rio Illingworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Owen Wallbank cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Philip Barratt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ray Golding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil McNiven having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Freddie Hatcher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phil McNiven. Great Bookham United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Freddie Hatcher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. A collision led to Border Jets FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ross Chambers hit a great ball. Quentin Rooney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Philip Barratt made a huge save. In the 94th match minute, Border Jets FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ray Golding to maneuver through the defense. When Chesney Bull came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Great Bookham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chesney Bull couldn't finish the play. 101 minutes into the game, Border Jets FC's Freddie Hatcher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Phil McNiven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-6. The Border Jets FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Great Bookham United's performance. The match ended with a win for Great Bookham United.
